Clenney was detained in connection with the murder of Christian “Toby” Obumseli on April 3 while receiving treatment for substance misuse and PTSD, according to her attorney, Frank Prieto, who confirmed remarks initially published by The Miami Herald.

According to the agency, she was being held at the East Hawai’i Detention Center and was scheduled to make her initial court appearance on Thursday. She will finally be sent to Florida through extradition.

Charges in relation to the murder of Obumseli will be announced on Thursday, according to the 11th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s office.

Obumseli’s death was earlier characterised by the Miami Police Department as a domestic violence-related incident involving a physical altercation and a stabbing.

Prieto, who earlier referred to the couple’s relationship as “obviously poisonous,” declared in a statement that Clenney’s arrest had “totally astonished” him due to “the clear proof of self-defense in this situation.”
