Goldman Sachs has appointed Dennis Coleman as the bank’s new CFO starting next year.

Coleman, the current co-head of the company’s global finance group, will succeed Stephen Scher, who will step down as chief financial officer at the end of the year, Goldman said in a statement Tuesday.

Goldman CEO David Solomon said in the statement, ‚ÄúDennis has always proven himself with sound judgment and operational ability in increasingly responsible roles and we look forward to his contribution to the company in as CFO. ”

Sher, 57, has served as chief financial officer for the past three years, after being appointed by Solomon to the CEO’s inner circle of top business executives in 2018. Prior to that, Scherr led the company’s efforts to expanding its retail banking business, Goldman’s first foray. in the consumer sector. He joined Goldman in 1993 as an investment banking partner and has been regularly promoted to positions such as chief financial officer, head of the company’s Latin American operations and chief strategy officer.
