Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings on the long-running “Jopardy! “Will share hosting duties for the remainder of 2021, producer Sony said Thursday.
Starting Monday, Bialik will host several weeks of episodes that will air until November 5. Then he and Jennings will share the hosting gig according to their schedule.
The two will record enough episodes to air the rest of the year, as Sony seeks a permanent daytime host.
Ex “Danger! The news comes after Mike Richards’ short stint. The executive producer who was chosen to host the game show in August. Richards’ callous remarks on a previous podcast and two discrimination lawsuits of his time on “The Price is Right” led to him being fired as a host and executive producer. He also left his position as executive producer of “Wheel of Fortune”.
Richards filmed several episodes before he left, and they would all air before the Bialik episodes air. “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Executive producer Michael Davis has returned to acting production duties after Richards was fired.
Bialik, best known for her portrayal of Amy Farrah Fowler in CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory”, is a writer, neuroscientist and executive producer and the star of Fox’s “Call Me Cat.” Reports suggest that Bialik was considered for the main hosting gig when “Danger!” Executive and Soni were scrutinizing the candidates for the current session.
However, Bialik was not available due to conflicts with his sitcom. In August, he was chosen to host the franchise television and spinoff series.

Jennings, “Jopardy! I am the author with the longest winning streak. History posted the highest rating of any guest host last season.
The show has seen several guest hosts since Alex Trebek’s death in November. These included journalist Katie Couric, professional football star Aaron Rodgers, news anchor Anderson Cooper, CNBC financial reporter David Faber and actor LeVar Burton.
