Names of 13 soldiers killed in Kabul attack

WASHINGTON – The Pentagon on Saturday released the names of 13 U.S. servicemen killed in a suicide bombing in Kabul who was on a life-threatening humanitarian evacuation mission.

The August 26 attack near the gates of Hamid Karzai International Airport, which killed 11 sailors, a Navy sailor and a soldier, is under investigation.

Falls include:

Marine Corps Cpl. Degan W. Page from Omaha, Nebraska, 23

Marine Corps Cpl. Humberto A. Sanchez, 22, of Logansport, Indiana

Marine Corps Cpl Lance. David L. from Rio Bravo, Texas. Espinoza, 20 years old

Marine Corps Cpl Lance. Jared M. Schmitz, 20, from St. Charles, Missouri

Marine Corps Cpl Lance. Riley J., 20, from Jackson, Wyoming. Mccallum

Marine Corps Cpl Lance. Dylan R., 20, from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Merola

The army sergeant major. Ryan C. Knauss, 23, of Corryton, Tennessee.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on Saturday that the remains of the U.S. military were currently in transit to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
