A United Soccer League player in Miami has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a Florida college campus classroom, officials said.
Jehshun Anglin, a 20-year-old Miami FC midfielder and member of the Jamaican national team, was indicted on Tuesday after allegedly sticking his hand down a woman’s pants and then ejaculating them, reports the Miami Herald. ended.
Both men are from Modesto A. Medic of Florida International University. Medic was in a classroom on campus when the woman claimed that Anglin asked her to have oral sex and she refused.
An arrest report obtained by the newspaper shows that Anglin put his hand under the woman’s pants and sexually assaulted her. According to reports, she tried to leave, but the athlete pinned her to the ground and ejaculated on her body.
Anglin took off his pants when someone came into an adjoining room and found the victim crying on the floor.
The soccer star, who made 15 appearances for Miami FC in this year’s USL Championship League, was arrested around 6 p.m. Tuesday and refused to speak to investigators, the Herald reports.
Team officials said Tweeter Wednesday that they were cooperating with law enforcement in the ongoing investigation, while Miami FC made no further comment. The Herald reported that Anglin is also on the extended Jamaican national team roster, known as the “Reggae Boys.”
According to The Gleaner, a Kingston-based newspaper, Anglin appeared in three games for the Jamaica national soccer team after making his debut against Bermuda in March 2020.
A representative of Jamaica’s men’s national team said he was aware of Anglin’s arrest but would not comment on it, the newspaper reported on Thursday.
Anglin, who appeared in court on Wednesday in a sexual violence case, pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $ 10,000 bail, reports the Herald.
