ORLANDO, Fla. – They were the best times, they were the worst times. A story of two weekend days. Hopefully your outdoor plans are on Saturday this weekend. Saturday will be an almost perfect afternoon after a chilly start with high temperatures in the low 70s under mostly sunny skies.
The weather changes overnight Saturday and early Sunday morning. It will be very windy as the cold front approaches on Sunday morning. Wind gusts could sometimes exceed 40 mph until Sunday evening.
The chance of rain also increases on Sunday morning and early afternoon. Some showers can be intense with strong, potentially damaging wind gusts.
Rain will ease into the second half of Sunday, but it will remain windy as much colder air flows over the Florida peninsula.
Monday morning starts dry with temperatures in the forties. Even with sunshine Monday afternoon, the highlights struggle to climb out of the 50s. That will set the stage for what is likely to be the coldest morning of the season yet Tuesday, with most of Central Florida waking up in the 1930s and 1940s.
Frost is also likely to affect areas northwest of Orlando and remote areas south of the metro. The next week it will remain chilly during the middle of the week.
